Chris Strompolos and Eric Zala brought their movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation to the Twin Cites for a showing at the Riverview Theater Thursday May 31, 2007.   In addition to that showing, they also had a screening the day prior at the Minneapolis Public Library in a special screening for students.  The Riverview showing was special to the guys in that Angela Rodriguez, their Marion Ravenwood, would be there.  This was the first time she attended a showing of the movie with them.

Do you remember when you FIRST saw Raiders of the Lost Ark? Not the 2nd time, not the 5th, 10th, or 100th time... but the 1st time. As much as I love Raiders AND Indiana Jones, I know the movie literally word for word, front to back, scene to scene. As much as I love watching it over and over, the "magic" it first had when I saw it that very first time, isn't there on all these subsequent viewings years later. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but that initial shock of not knowing what's going to happen next isn't there. The laughs, the cheers... I know when and where they all occur in the movie. Even watching it with someone who's never seen it, or not seen it in years, I look over at them at key moments to see their reactions.  But during Raiders the Adaptation, this magic was back for me, and in a big way. Even thought I knew the movie, I didn't know how they would pull off the next shot, let alone the next scene. The movie experience was new for me, and it was wonderful. We laughed, clapped, and had more fun at this movie than I've had at a movie in ages. Heck, the Riverview was almost sold out! Chris, Eric, and Jayson, I want to thank you all here for bringing this feeling back to this movie for me and I'll be thankful for that for a long time to come.

So, if any of you ever get the chance to see this movie at a screening any where near your area, go. You'll regret it if you have a chance to see this and miss it. It was truly a night to remember.  Just click on the pictures below for their full size photos.
